FAQ
How Do I Know If Spinal Decompression Is Right For Me?
All new patients start with a very through case review and consultation. Only after we determine the cause of back pain and other symptoms do we fully accept a patient into our program. Our number one concern is phenomenal outcomes for patients and if we accept your case it is because we feel that you have a great chance of having a great functional change in your condition and relief of your symptoms. If the doctor does not feel that you will clinically be a good candidate for this type of program, he will tell you so.
How Does Spinal Decompression Work?
Spinal decompression works by gently separating the vertebrae from each other creating a space, or a vacuum, between the vertebrae. This is referred to as negative pressure which causes bulging or herniated disks to retract into place, thereby reducing the pressure on the nerve root that has been the cause of back pain. The procedure also stimulates the flow of oxygen and nutrients into the disks, which helps to boost the healing process.
Are Their Studies Demonstrating The Effectiveness Of Your Treatment Protocols?
Their are dozens of studies demonstrating the benefits and effectiveness of the treatment. Dr. John Leslie, of the Mayo Clinic, conducted research that indicated non-surgical spinal disc therapy is 88.9% effective, based on a multi-center, non-randomized pilot study. The patients included in the research had been suffering chronic back pain for an average of 10 years. Two weeks of treatment was enough to produce a 50% reduction in pain scores.
Does The Care Plan Have Side-Effects?
Our protocols are drug-free and have no side-effects. Our goal is to uncover the hidden mechanisms that are contributing to your symptoms, and work to functionally change those.
What About The Medications That I Am Currently Taking?
We will never tell you to stop taking your medications. That’s called practicing medicine without a license. Getting off medications is a goal of most patients. As you progress with the our program you will have opportunity to return to the doctor who prescribes your medications and work with them to adjust them down if your clinical scenario warrants it.
